CELTIC have been linked with yet another striker and every time a new frontman gets linked with a potential move to the club, their fee seems to drop from the previous link.
We started at Sporar and Kadwere at around €7m, then Patryk Klimala at around €4m now SunSport are running an ‘exclusive’ that Celtic have watched £2.5m rated Yonatan Cohen in the Israeli League.
Celtic fans who know a bit about Celtic’s relationship with one of the Israeli’s league’s most prolific agents Dudu Dahan will be sighing at the latest link.
The striker who also can play on the left has scored seven goals in the last six games for Maccabi Tel Aviv and is apparently highly regarded within Israeli football. It could be Neil Lennon sees the player as more of a wide man than the striker he’s looking for.
The paper writes: “SunSport understands Hoops head of recruitment Nick Hammond had the 23-year-old watched in Monday’s two-goal display as Maccabi won 4-3 at Maccabi Haifa.
“The £2.5million-rated Cohen’s second goal was an injury-time winner and left the Hoops scout mightily impressed.”
Celtic and the support must not fall into the trap of bringing just any striker in. If they think Yohan has the potential to come in and help Celtic then it’s a no brainer. However, penny-pinching or through a lack of frustration at not landing other targets should not be the catalyst for a move.
i think this player would be a good fit..but only if the manager wants him..
