Celtic have been looking into a defender from Rapid Vienna, Dejan Ljubicic, who has impressed the Austrian side.

Celtic are not the only ones looking into him according to MailSport, as he is very popular across Scotland, England, Russia and Germany teams.

The 6ft2 Austrian defensive midfielder has 23 appearances, two goals and one assist across all platforms this season. He joined Rapid Vienna back after on loan to Wiener Neustadt for a month.

If he signs for the hoops, he wouldn’t be put in the squad right away as there are already enough midfielders in the team, so he would have to work his way up unless Celtic are planning the sell this summer.

Olivier Ntcham has been linked with a move away for the past year, could he make way for a deal to go through?

Celtic’s season starts in august so they have less than a month to sort out their team. Their priority has to be a goalkeeper.

  1. Priority is to resolve the goalkeeper situation, no question. However, if the right players become available at a competitive price, then by all means, go for them.
