REPORTS down south claim Celtic have been keeping an eye of Craig Dawson’s situation after the defender handed in a transfer request at the start of July.

The 28-year-old can play right back as well as centre back and is looking for a new challenge after WBA were relegated at the end of last season.

Craig has spent 8 years at the Hawthorns but is now training away from the first team due to his transfer request.

Celtic are actively in the market for a defender and one who can cover both centre and right back would be a coveted skill.

The Englishman still has two years left on his deal and would command a transfer fee.

It’s thought that Leicester City are also interested in the defender.

  1. He would that Michael,in fact a perfect signing for our needs right now, seasoned C.B,would defo help bring on young Ajer, who impresses the more i see him, style reminds me of Vvd,with his willingness to drive foward at every opportunityDawson also can play RB so another plus,i really think Gamboa has done well enough when called upon,so deserves a run in the team/squad.Only problem is the reported £20m fee for Dawson, think maybe £8-£12m more about realistic, but would we pay that for a 28yr old defender with little sell on value? i doubt it.That said we rally should be,it’s hardly going to break the bank isi t?
Truth is with the great attacking players we have in our team,if we had a solid defence,it would give our midfield and attack the added security to express themselves even more. The club really need to spend some of the cash already accumulated on the defence now,but again how many years have we been begging the board to shell out on the defence?.The sellable assets at the club has never been better, with Dembele,Edouarde,Ntcham and Tierney worth at least £100m,with young Ajer,i’m sure a star of the future, who will also command a big transfer fee.
