It’s hard to believe Celtic are chasing midfielders in this transfer window, it is one position that is top heavy with players. Unless Neil Lennon has some major clearout planned or reports that Rogic and Ntcham are subject to moves away, it should not be a priority position.

We have no doubt the gaping holes in the squad are been vigorously worked on but this morning the Daily Express reported Celtic are chasing Brentford attacking midfielder Romain Sawyers.

Apparently, Celtic have been watching the player for the last couple of seasons, now the player is running into the last year of his contract Celtic are reportedly ready to make their move. Lennon is said to have competition from Stoke City for the player who had seven assists in 42 games last season.

Lennon was already close to bringing in what must have been his first choice attacking midfielder in David Turnbull before the move collapsed after a well documented failed medical.

  1. We need good quality scottish lads playing in the hoops not guys who get bored after 12 month’s and want away.
Thats why Turnbull would have been a good long term bet. Lads like that know what Celtic are about and will put in a proper shift for a number of years.
Like Brown, Forrest, Griffiths and McGregor . The Back bone of a Celtic team. Need more lads in that mold to anchor this Club for the future.

  2. Ntcham can leave ASAP after his remarks in France, don’t want him near the team and as for his progression in the game you need to have the ability to progress doesn’t matter which team you play for or what league you play in which he hasn’t showed he can do in the so called poorer league he has been playing in. Ntcham should living in cloud cuckoo land.
