Celtic have tonight been linked with Bristol City winger, Niclas Eliasson if a third bid for Alfie Doughty fails to come to fruition.

As revealed earlier, Celtic’s head of recruitment Gary Penrice, who was once formally of Bristol City, has watched the Bristol City winger in action last week as the Championship club faced Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

According to the Scottish Sun, Alfie Doughty is Neil Lennon’s first choice for that position with a third bid being placed on the Charlton player but Eliasson now looks to be the option that the club will turn to if a deal cannot be agreed with Charlton.

The Swedish winger can play on both sides and has also found himself playing in a left-wing back role for Bristol City at times.

Similarly to Doughty, the 26-year is out of contract next summer and for that reason has found himself on the fringes of the City side. This could allow the hoops to swoop in, with an offer late in the window which the English Championship will more than likely have to accept or risk losing him on a free.
