CELTIC have been linked with a January move for Manchester Utd man, Dean Henderson as the goalkeeper looks to get meaningful game time to kick-on in his career.

The stopper has made three appearances for United this season, two in the cup and one Champions Leauge game. However, Dean is being kept out the side by David DeGea and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get a whole lot of game time this term.

Celtic are not actively in the market for a goalkeeper but if Neil Lennon decided a change is needed in January, sports website 90min claim Celtic is an option for Henderson.

With Premier League clubs spoken for – he has been replaced at Sheffield United by £18m summer signing Aaron Ramsdale – it could mean that Henderson may have to consider moving abroad in order to secure the playing time he needs, or perhaps even to Scotland, where Celtic is an option.” 90min website writes.

Dean Henderson

Henderson, 23, is rated at £18m by Transfermarkt, a ludicrous price you would think for a goalkeeper who hasn’t seen much action at all, but in the Premier League, that sort of fee is sadly believable.

If Celtic were interested, it would likely be a loan move if it suited all parties. Right now, we have two goalkeepers vying for the number one spot at the club. By January, Celtic and the manager should have a good idea who their main man will be. If the decision is neither, Henderson could fit in well.

  1. While most United fans will point to the Sancho Saga as the worst deal or non deal of the summer, I think the situation with the keepers is ridiculous. We now have two top class keepers who need to move, 1 for guaranteed game time and the other because he feels slighted by the club after years of service. Dean should have went out on loan last October and now can only go if Romero can be placated enough not to want to leave. I think next Summer if Dean is to be number one De Gea will have to leave and so will Sergio is he doesn’t move in January. A situation very badly handled.
