Celtic have been linked with a move for Barnsley left-back  Callum Styles, as Ange Postecoglou edges closer to the possibility of adding more players to his squad in the January transfer window.

As reported by the Scotsman, according to a report from Sun Sport, the club believe that Styles could solve the left-back issue from this season and previous campaigns.

The left-back position is yet to be nailed down under Postecoglou, with Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Adam Montgomery, Boli Bolingoli and even Josip Juranovic having spells in that area of the park.

So signing the 21-year old left-back from down south could be the chance for Ange to try and bring in a preferred option.

However, in recent weeks, we have seen Liam Scales trusted with more appearances and the return from injury for Greg Taylor, which has resulted in some good displays from the 24-year old.

Taylor has also recently signed a new long-term deal with the club, suggesting that Ange sees him as a player who will remain with the club for the next few years under his management.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Celtic pursue a deal for a young left-back such as Styles in the up-and-coming winter window.
