Celtic have been linked to some new names in the transfer window as it appears the Hoops are interested in bringing another striker to the club [Scottish Sun].

It was revealed yesterday that Danish side FC Midtjylland were showing interest in Giorgos Giakoumakis who is likely to leave Parkhead in the coming months.

He appears to have been frozen out since after the World Cup break having not started any of the Hoops five games since and has reportedly rejected a fresh contract offer.

If he does depart the Scottish champions, the league leaders could receive a sum in the region of €6-7 million which they would look to reinvest back into the squad.

The previous striker linked to Celtic was South Korean international Cho Gue-sung who recently featured for his national side and is bang on form in the K-League.

Elsewhere, Ange Postecoglou’s team are now being linked with a move for midfielder Ardon Jashari who currently players for Swiss side Luzern and was included in Switzerland’s World Cup squad.

Teams such as Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig are also being linked to a move for the highly rated 20-year-old defensive midfielder.

In the striking department, the new link away from Gue-sung is Stal Mielec forward Said Hamulic who has scored nine goals in 17 appearances so far in the Polish top flight.

If Celtic were to land the forward they would have to pay somewhere in the region of around £2.2 million.
