CELTIC have been linked with a move for young Newcastle goalkeeper after it was revealed the player is growing very frustrated at his current club.

The under 20 World Cup winner has a contract until 2020 and has been loaned out to Kilmarnock and Aberdeen so far in his career.

Reports say the player has become very frustrated being Newcastle’s third choice goalkeeper and asked to go back out on loan in the summer.

However, Newcastle declined the loan move because they wanted the player to pen a new deal before heading out. Given his current position in the pecking order, Freddie has been reluctant to sign any new deal with the club.

Speaking about a January move Freddie said.

“I want to get the best out of a bad situation,” Woodman said. “January is around the corner and I have to be prepared for it when it comes.

“I’ve always said I enjoy playing football so whatever level it is, I am going to enjoy it.”

There is no way if Celtic made a move for Freddie he would be number one choice and would most likely be third or fourth.

The rumours came from TalkSport and maybe this his agents trying to drum up business for the goalkeeper.

Craig Gordon is getting on a bit and Bain is there also at the minute ready to step in. Conor Hazard is also an option so it would be jumping from one frustrating situation to another.

  1. Scott Bain is an excellent goalkeeper and ready to be the No1.
Conor Hazard is a fitting back-up who is still learning his trade.
Why would we need another goalkeeper?

  2. I have two things to say regarding the ridiculous attempts by Sevco to deflect from their thuggish fans:

    1. Celtic don’t do laps of honour. They walk round in a circle after EVERY game clapping and thanking the fans, no matter the result. It is appreciated by those who stay to see it.

    2. The club across the water inflames their fans and encourages them to create disorder. Instances of this are widespread and catalogued for easy acces on the web. At the last so called derby, their thuggish fans were wound up by the club itself. They are easy to wind up and easy to offend. The sight of something green is enough. So the real blame for their behaviour lies with their club and this element of their fan base. They don’t need much encouragement and that club know exactly how to play them. It is time that our so-called Government, Police Force, and Judiciary acted where action is needed, instead of easy targets. They are the club of lies, and deflection. Mean spirited and profoundly dark.

I’m away to play my reeds now.

  3. Very poorly written article, saying Newcastle goalkeeper, under 20 World Cup winner , etc , and not even mentioned his name yet , Rubbish
