Another day, another tenuous link.

This time it’s Feyenoord’s Renato Tapia who has been linked with a move to Celtic this January.

Reports in Holland from VI news the player will be allowed to leave the club this window and Celtic are credited with a serious interest in the defensive midfielder.

Celtic are on the lookout for a defensive midfielder but their transfer priorities still lie with bringing in a striker at the moment.

Renato, 24, has played 23 times for Feyenoord this season so far but Feyenoord might be looking for a fee for the player before he leaves on a free this summer.

The Peruvian entered the last six months of his contract at the start of January and can now talk to other clubs. However, RecordSport also writes Steven Gerrard also has an interest in the midfielder. It could be a case of his agent trying to get his name out into the media and Celtic and their rivals are being used to do that.

  1. Had lennon gave Sinclair even half a chance,we had a goal scorer infront of him.Morgan starts cup final upfront when sinclair by far the better option and threat. Then next old firm game no place yet again for Scotty, this may well come back to haunt lennon and the board, hail hail.
