Celtic are reportedly interest in Rosenborg star Birger Meling according to reports in Norway from TV2.

The player is said to be one of the many options Celtic are looking at to replace Kieran Tierney after his move to Arsenal.

Celtic only have Boli Bolingoli in that position at present and if he was to get injured it leaves them exposed.

Meling, 24, is in the last year of his contract which means Celtic could wait until January to pick the player up for nothing or pay a lower fee to Rosenborg to bring him in this summer.

Right now, it’s still just speculation. Celtic know Rosenborg very well after playing them four times last season between Champions League qualifiers and the Europa League.

Could he be the man to fill Kieran Tierney’s boots next term or will Celtic look closer to home with Kilmarnock Greg Taylor also in the mix to come in and fill that spot?
