Late last night, Celtic were linked with a surprise move for West Ham United and Scotland u21 internationalist right-back Harrison Ashby.
According to journalist Christopher Dodds, the Hoops are ‘exploring’ a loan move for the full-back who is being tracked by several clubs on transfer deadline day.
Understand that Celtic are exploring a loan move for West Ham & Scotland U21 star Harrison Ashby.
One of a few clubs tracking the defender who operates primarily as a right-back but can also play as a wing-back too.
Good move for both parties if they can agree a deal.— Christopher Dodds (@chrissydodds_) August 30, 2021
All summer, fans were screaming for a new addition in the right-back area. We finally got that with the signing of Croatian internationalist Josip Jurnaovic.
At the beginning of the window, two full-backs were needed, but the resurgence of Anthony Ralston has left supporters more than relaxed, with the 22-year old being another option for Ange Postecoglou.
So this late-night rumour has left fans more than confused about what we are looking for in terms of additions going into transfer deadline day.
There is every chance that Ashby is a decent talent and would be a good addition at another stage in time.
However, the right-back area doesn’t feel like it should be as much of a concern with the work currently needing to be done.
These links are at the very early stages, so as the day progresses, anything can change, and it might not be an option Postecoglou is looking to go down later in the day.
I tell you this we done with out a right back for so long now we going have 3,bring in a big CH Kristijan Lovrić ASP
