CELTIC defender Erik Sviatchenko helped make history on Monday as FC Midjytland lifted the league title for only the second time in their history!

The Danish star was pivotal to the team’s success since joining in January when Brendan Rodgers admitted Erik wasn’t in his plans.

Instead of wallowing, the player went about making history and doing his best for his loan club.

With four games to go, all looked lost with Brondby commanding a five-point lead – however they clawed their way back into contention and their destiny was firmly in their own hands on Monday with a win securing them the title.

Erik is a born winner and many Celtic fans felt he was too good to head on-loan in January.

Will the fact he’s coming back as a Champion and undoubtedly a better player make Brendan Rodgers rethink Erik’s position?

Congratulations to Erik and Midjytland.

  1. Always rated Sviatchenko over Boyata, he seemed to read the game better than him and made the right decisions, if he could get his pace up to speed he would defo be in my team. HH

  2. Well done Eric , decent enough lad but again we need better than him Boyata and Simonuvic at the back , def need a strong centre half in to bolster the back line , perhaps we will see mystery man Commper staking a claim in the coming months, but we still need a proper defender as a priority
