CELTIC signed Liam Scales last summer from Shamrock Rovers, but he failed to make a significant impression on the first team.

The defender was subject of interest from the Dons and eventually joined the side on loan. The loan that Aberdeen and Celtic agreed on had no clause that could permanently make Liam stay in the northeast.

However, the Scotsman reports that Aberdeen and keen to make it a permanent transfer and will enter discussions with Celtic over the coming months to see if an agreement can be met.

There’s no mention of a fee yet, but it’s imaginable that Celtic will look to cover the fee they spent on him, under £500,000

Scales to Adapt New Role

Liam Scales will play on the left of a defensive duo, meaning he won’t play left-back like he has done so for Celtic.

It’ll be good for him to develop this side of his game and potentially impress enough to push for a starting role at Celtic. However, this is unlikely, especially if the two clubs agree on a deal that could see the Irishman move to the club permanently.
