CELTIC youngster Kundai Benyu’s loan move to Oldham looks dead in the water at the moment, with the midfielder seeing no game time since early January.

The hope was Kundai would head out to get much needed first team football, but after a handful of games the youngster was demoted to the bench and hasn’t moved off it – only starting two games since arriving.

Kundai was a spectator again yesterday as his loan side managed a credible draw against Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn.

Oldham are just outside the relegation zone and are fighting for their League One survival. Manager Richie Wellens doesn’t seem to be keen on using the Celtic player.

At this rate, the loan move looks like a waste of time when he could have been playing for the developmental side.

  1. Early days still, Kundai looked a player in the handful of appearances he’s had at Celtic. Not sure but i think he was signed as a midfield player for the future,in the game time he’s had looked like an attack minded midfielder who want’s to get forward as much as he can.The squads full of players vying for positions in that area of the team, therefore the development squad looked like the next best option, that being said the management team know what their doing,as the current form of fellow loan players Christie and Allan prove added to the current form of Ajer in the first team, after spending last season on loan at Kilmarnock

  2. To be honest, I’m starting to agree the loan is a bit of a waste. We’ve also got a number of players who are vying for similar positions in the team and recently had a very talented winger come and go in Queensy Menig. As with menig, the Problem might not be his ability but his attitude.

That being said, if he’s an attacking midfielder he will struggle to get game tune. His appearances stopped when we re-signed Jack Byrne. There won’t be many in league one getting in ahead of him.

  3. I hate to see them go south. Keep Loan players up here, Morton, Hibs, St mirren just somewhere with a good manager and a decent pitch. He has pace and a lovely fluid style, plays with a smile on his face.
