Let’s be clear, there’s no silver lining after the shocking Ross county defeat which seems to confirm that our horrible form continues into another week.

The bhoys have been sent packing from a competition they’ve dominated for the past four years by a side we should be beating at Celtic Park. It puts question marks over our ability to win any given match.

There’s an SPFL positive for the cup exit tonight but it only really matters if the club can find form and start winning games.

The club currently have two games in hand and will go three games behind their rivals with the Scottish Cup game in December. However, Aberdeen and Celtic have both been sent packing from the League Cup which now opens up a date in the diary right before the Scottish cup final next month the SPFL are likely to utilise.

It would mean Celtic would make a game back on their rivals and stay two behind going into the new year.

It only matters if we win and keep winning from this point. Right now, it seems unlikely.
