Oliver Abildgaard could still make his Celtic exit today if the club can come to terms over his release.
Oliver’s deal is a strange one. He’s not officially on loan due to his contract being frozen by FIFA with Russian side Rubin Kazan. The Hoops picked up his contract for the season, the midfielder signing a one-year deal.
Coming in back in the summer, Abildgaard hasn’t made a single start for Celtic.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph claims the club are interested in cutting the one-year deal short and that Oli’s hometown of Aalborg are interested in taking the player.

Trying to get into the Celtic midfield at present is a tough nut to crack. We have Cal Mac, Reo Hatate, Aaron Mooy, Matt O’Riley and David Turnbull. Above that we now have Tomoki Iwata challenging for a space in the side.
It’s not a given Oli will leave the club, but it’s in the best interest of all parties for the Danish player to move on.
Celtic are still working in a number of exits this deadline day.
