We reported earlier today Celtic youth prospect Liam Morrison was closing in on a move to Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga outfit had turned his head in recent times.

Celtic tried their best to convince the player his future was at Celtic but Liam and his family believe his career would be best served with the Germans.

The move has been in the pipeline for some time with Celtic trying to scupper any deal by offering Liam a new contract and now Sky Sports reporter Peter O’Rourke has confirmed Celtic entered a legal battle for the player’s youth registration.

The club managed to bring in Luca Connell because he only had a youth registration with the youth set up at the Reebok and now Bayern have stepped in and done the same to the club.

Morrison, 16, will now head to Bayern to continue his development. It was not meant to be and as the official Celtic twitter once famously said ‘we move on’.
