Celtic have reportedly made an ‘enquiry’ about the availability of Fortuna Sittard midfielder Mark Diemers
Diemers, 25, signed with the Dutch club last summer on a free transfer and has been instrumental in helping his club beat the drop in the Dutch top flight. The midfielder has made 34 Eredivisie appearances this term scoring seven goals and seven assists to his name.
SunSport claim there are several clubs interested in the player but Celtic HAVE asked the Dutch club how much they want for their star player.
Celtic are currently without a full-time manager but it’s clear there’s movement behind the scenes to try and strengthen the squad as early as possible before the full-time gaffer is announced.
Lee Congerton has also left his post as head of recruitment and whoever’s in charge of the scouting system at the moment is forging ahead. Celtic have a very short window to get players in this summer before pre-season when the Champions League qualifiers will come thick and fast.
