Celtic Women kept up their impressive run of form, making it nine games unbeaten and five clean sheets in a row with a 4-0 win over Spartans.

Fran Alonso’s side rushed into a 3-0 lead at half-time with goals from Sarah Ewens, Jacynta Galabaadraachchi and Jodie Bartle. The final was added early in the second, as Mariah Lee rounded off the scoring.

As the Hoops looked to keep up their chase for the Champions League’s spots, they took the lead early on after just 16 minutes. A long ball found midfielder Anna Filbey in behind, who in turn picked out Ewens to finish it off.

Around 13 minutes later Jacynta Galabaadraachchi was able to grab her first goal for the club and double the lead.

After some good persistence and running from Mariah Lee, she made her way to the byline before finding Jacynta to slot the ball home.

Just before half-time, Jodie Bartle was able to add a third goal of the game, giving Spartans a long way to go if they wanted to come back into it in the second half.

Once again, it was Filbey who was the provider setting up the defender to score.

Finally, derby hero Mariah Lee finished things off with a goal of her own. Coming in from the left, Lee sliced a shot but luckily it found the corner.

As we head into the final three games, Alonso will be looking to keep this impressive form and run of clean sheets going.

Especially going into this weekend’s crucial fixture against Rangers, which could prove pivotal in the race for Champions League football next season.
