ANGE POSTECOGLOU has given some insight into how Giorgos Giakoumakis and Kyogo Furuhashi will play when the man from Japan is back fit.

The latest update on Kyogo is that he’s due to return to full training during the international break, which is anytime now. The striker could be available for the Glasgow Derby; however, unless Giakoumakis isn’t fit, it’s hard to imagine Kyogo starting.

There is a headache for Ange further down the line. He needs to work out how to fit both men into his squad without sacrificing another on-form man.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Postecoglou gave his thoughts on the situation, but as usual, didn’t give too much away;

“For us, in the run-in, once we have Kyogo fit and ready to go, having that depth is going to help us.

Kyogo and Giako are different types of striker, but they both have the characteristics we need.

“They’re hard workers, they work back defensively, but they’re also good finishers in the box. We will end up playing close to 60 games this season in four different competitions.

“I always knew that we’d need depth and these different types of players.

“The whole idea was to try and build a squad that was going to be robust and flexible – to face the different challenges we have.”

Having Kyogo back fit for the split could be what wins Celtic the season. The striker has shown his quality, with his boss backing him to go all the way to the top.

Celtic have three Glasgow Derbies to play and will likely face both Edinburgh teams after the split. If Postecoglou’s side progress to the final, they will also play Hibs or Hearts at Hampden.
