ANGE POSTECOGLOU has provided an update on Kyogo’s injury after he came off before the 15-minute mark in Celtic’s cup win over St Mirren.

The striker could be seen in a sling after the match, with the Celtic boss confirming it was a shoulder injury, similar to what he had last year.

Liel Abada replaced the injured Japanese forward, who walked off the pitch. Maeda moved to the middle and got on the scoresheet not long after.

Speaking after the match, Postecoglou confirmed that Kyogo would need some further examination to determine how severe the injury was, but commented that knowing Kyogo, he’d be bursting to play through it.

The Celtic boss said:[ BBC Sportsound]

“It’s his shoulder. He had a similar one last year. We’ll just wait and see, we’ll get it scanned. He’s a pretty quick healer, I know what he’s like, he’ll probably want to train on Monday – but we’ll wait and see how the scan goes.”

It’s a worrying time for the team’s top scorer to pick up an injury. The hoops play Aberdeen next weekend, before travelling to Hampden to face The Rangers in the League Cup final the week after.

Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious and he’s banging the goals in over the next couple of weeks.
