THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW has been busier than usual for Celtic, with five players already welcomed to Parkhead. Outgoings are expected to continue and will pick up pace in the last week of the month.

The boss has confirmed the club are not actively seeking new signings, confirming there are no ongoing talks. [Celtic TV]

“As I said last week, we’ll stay agile. I don’t want to give Michael (Nicholson) and the finance department too many sleepless nights but we’re not talking to anyone else or looking to bring anyone else in.”

Turning his attention to outgoings, Postecoglou admitted there will be players leaving this month. Already, Liam Shaw, Ewan Henderson and Conor Hazard have left the club on loan, many are expected to follow. The Aussie manager said this;

“In terms of moving out, I said a couple of days ago that we’re not trying to actively get anyone out of the club it’s just about trying to find opportunities for guys who haven’t had a lot of game-time – and with the competition for places now may not get a lot.

“So we’re working with some of the guys to see what opportunities there are out there. Those types of things tend to happen later in the window.”

The club will look to send squad players who have potential out on loan to get some valuable minutes under their belt.

At a young age, loan spells can be extremely beneficial, however, Celtic also have the B team playing in a similar system to the first team. Young upcoming prospects will benefit from this.

The club will be looking to sort out a deal for players like Barkas and Ajeti who have failed to cut it at Celtic.
