Masters football returns after a ten year absence and Celtic will take their place in the indoor football competition at Braehead Arena in July.

The side that will turn out for Celtic has been chosen and there are some new faces coming to the masters for Celtic.

It’s ragtag random bunch of Celtic players from various eras at the club.

Rab Douglas, Mark Wilson, Kelvin Wilson, Stan Petrov, Kris Commons, Joe Ledley, Simon Donnelly and Carlton Cole will be the men tasked with bringing Celtic success at the masters.

It’s a decent footballing side. Scott Brown was going to captain the Hoops side originally but his gig with Fleetwood town put an end to that.

The tournament will go ahead on July 8th and will involve Celtic, Rangers, Liverpool and Man Utd legends. See more info on the masters website.

There’s a good few trophies between all these lads and we look forward to seeing how the bhoys get on.

The masters was a great tradition back in the day and we’re delighted to see it back.

  1. They must have been pretty hard up to get a side together with the likes of Petrov and Kelvin Wilson, who literally, in Petrov’s case ran out of the building and down to Aston Villa on flag day.

It didn’t take him long to come crawling back when he needed funds for his treatment though. Seems Aston Villa and their fans were not as a accommodating to millionaires looking for handouts from the proletariat.

As for Common’s, he’s dirtied his bib once too often and should no longer be permitted to associated with Celtic FC.

I take it the club have nothing to do with this venture.
