MARVIN COMPPER is all set for a Celtic medical as Celtic and Leipzig hammer out the final details of the 32-year-olds transfer.

The one time German international has already visited Scotland last week where he was given a tour of Lennoxtown and spoke with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

The player now looks set to join the Hoops in a move that will more than likely be confirmed before the January window opens.

We reported last week that Brendan Rodgers was not messing around with his main transfer targets and that he was looking to seal the players move before Christmas.

The Celtic manager was to freshen up his side who just suffered their first domestic defeat in 70 games.

With the defenders looking short on confidence and injury prone, Marvin’s addition will be much welcomed for competition as well as experience.

Celtic are still in the process of bringing in more players Rodgers and his backroom staff have pointed out with a view to getting them integrated during the three-week winter shutdown.

Compper would not be eligible for the Europa League as he has played in Europe this season with Leipzig.

The fee is believed to be around €800,000.
