Celtic have published the minutes from Monday night’s meeting with supporter groups, offering the most detailed account yet of the tense exchange between the club’s hierarchy and representatives from the Celtic Fans Collective and other fan organisations.
The meeting, held at Celtic Park, was attended by chief executive Michael Nicholson, chief financial officer Chris McKay, and several senior staff, alongside members of groups including the Celtic Fans Collective, Celtic Trust, and Celtic Supporters Association.
While the minutes confirm the discussion remained “civil” and “respectful”, they also show a significant disconnect between the club and many of its supporters — particularly over issues of communication, governance, and football strategy.
Supporters reiterated their demand for answers to the seven questions first raised in the Collective’s open letter, covering transfer policy, accountability, and the club’s long-term vision. According to the minutes, fans described the meeting as “disappointing” and said that responses to “almost all queries were unsatisfactory”.
The club acknowledged that it was “not in a place where we would want to be” and admitted that “recent communications have not been well received.” Nicholson said Celtic had “not achieved all of its objectives” during the summer transfer window and confirmed an internal review was ongoing to identify what went wrong.
However, several supporters expressed frustration that the club’s answers often focused on communication rather than action. The minutes note one recurring theme: the view among fans that the board remains defensive, with one supporter describing responses as “the same old story”.
