Celtic midfielder Yousouf Mulumbu has all but confirmed a return to Kilmarnock after he posted a message back to a Killie fan wanting the club to announce a deal for their former star.

Mulumbu has only made three appearances for Celtic since making the move from Killie to Celtic in the summer. The midfielder was brought in to be a back-up for Celtic captain Scott Brown, but Callum McGregor made the position his own during the first half of the season.

With both Brown and McGregor both fit now, there’s no use for Mulumbu at the club.

The player is joining his former club on-loan for the rest of the season which means Mulumbu r would be able to play against all Celtic’s rivals and be ineligible to play against Celtic.

With Killie six points behind Celtic, it could give Steve Clarke’s men a boost and if Celtic can pull away it may even help Killie to a second place finish.
