MATT O’RILEY will have to wait a little longer to make his first appearance for Celtic, the club has not received the International clearance.

The manager confirmed the disappointing news, by saying;

“Matt isn’t eligible to face Alloa as we are just waiting on all the clearance to come through”

Hoops fans were hoping to see the player in action today after reading rave reviews of the player from his former team’s fans.

The 21-year-old signed from MK Dons on Thursday night, putting pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract. Celtic triggered the midfielder’s release clause of £1.5 million and a personal phone call from Postecoglou sealed the deal.

Celtic have plenty of options in midfield, his absence will not be felt by the team. With Alloa a couple of divisions lower it gives the manager leeway to rotate his squad if he wishes. However, respect must be given to the league 1 team who are looking to cause an upset.
