Celtic’s summer signing caught a bit of flack a month or so back when he was put in front of the media when Celtic weren’t doing so well.

Yousouff Mulumbu conducted his first pre-match press conference and gave the media a rundown of what was going to happen in the following month.

Said with complete conviction the midfielder said Celtic will get through this bad spell, win their games against Hearts and Hibs and head to the top of the league.

OK, so the last one hasn’t happened yet but at this point, it’s just a matter of time.

Listen to how confident the former Killie man was when he was quizzed about his new teammates and their stuttering form.

Since this interview Celtic have gone on a massive roll domestically. In the last five games, the bhoys have scored 23 goals and only conceded 2.

Some of the media sniggered at the Celtic player’s comments and tried to push the narrative about a split in the dressing room. It’s safe to say those people are very quiet right now.

The bittersweet part for Mulumbu will be that he’s been injured and not been able to participate in this upswing so far.

The new bhoy is back in training and could turn out for the bhoys on Thursday or Sunday if Rodgers picks him.
