Callum McGregor has made the stunning revelation that more than a few of the Celtic stars who ran riot on Sunday were nursing an illness.

The Celtic midfielder admitted that he along with several others were ‘laying low’ before the crunch tie in order to be ready for it.

Not only did they manage a performance, the whole team was exceptional and you would have never of known any of them were struggling.

Speaking after the wiped the floor with the Ibrox side, Callum says there was no way he was missing the game: “I was struggling with the cold before the game and it takes it right out of you in a game like that.

“But these are the games you want to play in and the days you live for as a footballer.

“There was no way I was going to pull out because these are the games you want to play in, especially to go and finish the league off.

“There must have been a wee bug going about because a few of the boys were struggling with the cold, Kieran Tierney and Tom Rogic.

“I’m not sure what we would have done if we were all fully fit.”

Had they been 100% maybe we would have seen more goals in the final 30 minutes of the game.
