Celtic could be set to get their hands on a domestic treble this weekend as Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys take on Inverness in the Scottish Cup final.

It could turn out to be an historic weekend for the Hoops but ahead of it, speculation has been mounting over interest from Spurs in manager Postecoglou.

As well as this (although in no way as hurtful for fans), there has been news of a potential exit for midfielder James McCarthy.

The Irishman joined the club on a free transfer in 2021 but has made just 27 appearances in green and white since then, playing an average of half an hour in each.

The 32 year old has failed to capture the imagination with his boyhood club and as of 90min, a few MLS clubs are interested in his services.

It is said that both Houston Dynamo and Colorado Rapids have expressed interest in McCarthy ahead of the secondary transfer window in the MLS.

Said window runs from July 5th to August 2nd therefore if a deal was to be done, it would go through between those two dates.

Currently, McCarthy has two years left on his Celtic deal thus the club would receive some amount of money if he departs.

In fairness if the midfielder leaves, he will not be missed by most Celtic fans.

He has had nowhere near enough game time as he would’ve wanted in Glasgow and even when he has played, he has been poor.

As a result, a move elsewhere is best for both parties.
