The deadline for registering players for the second qualifying round of the Champions League has now passed with no new additions from the first leg.

Celtic had until midnight on Thursday to conclude any new signings which could have been included in the squad for the doubleheader against Kalju. The bhoys will go into the game with the same squad now unless they sign somebody before Tuesday evening with the possibility of a wild card being included.

This means if the club sign Hatem Abd Elhamed over the weekend he could still make the squad.

Two things would have to happen.

  • Celtic would have to sign an eligible player.
  • Neil Lennon would have to drop someone from the current squad.

As it stands, Kristoffer Ajer is likely to continue playing at right-back for the Scottish champions with Jozo Simunovic and perhaps Christopher Jullien partnering up for the second round. Nir Bitton has been playing at centre back but you have to believe if Jullien is up to speed, the defender would start both legs.
