NEIL LENNON has told Celtic fans the club are currently in discussions with THREE players over new contracts as they head towards the end of their deals. However, it would appear that in at least one of the cases the club are trying to move the goal posts over a deal.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the interim Celtic boss told CelticTV that there were ongoing talks between the club and players.

“Well discussions are still on going at the minute. Mika and a few others are speaking as well, like Scotty Sinclair and Nir Bitton as well, that’s ongoing at the minute.”

Mikael’s contract runs out in the summer but the club have an extension in place where they could just trigger the clause and the player will have another year left on his deal.

It would appear the club are unwilling to give Mikael a deal set on the current terms and have opened negotiations with the defender about a lesser deal.

Lustig said he would stay as long as Celtic wanted him but will the deal be right for the Swede and his family to stay beyond the summer.

AIK has already shown interest in bringing Lustig back to Sweden.
