Celtic have ten games between today and the end of 2020. It’s been a crazy year with ups and downs; the pandemic putting a stop to life as we know it, but this time around not a stop to the football.

Celtic need to call on all their resources as they look to exert pressure on their rivals. It’s not going to be easy with the club playing over four competitions in those ten games. We will even go one more game behind the rest of the league when we take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final.

Michael Stewart believes there’s a pivotal player Celtic can’t do without at the moment; Ryan Christie.

After healing his country to their first major tournament in over years, the midfielder was seen as so vital to Scotland, he never got a rest and started all three games for his country.

Now back at Celtic, it’s likely Neil Lennon will play Ryan as much as he can, Michael Stewart believes Ryan will be the man to watch.

Writing for SunSport the Celtic FC Pass pundit explained:

But for me the main man for Lennon’s men has to be Ryan Christie.

He has been in fantastic form of late. When he gets the ball, you just expect something to happen.

His stunning strike set Celtic up for their Scottish Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen at Hampden.

Games like this, which could end up balanced on a knife edge, are the ones he can decide.

And he took that into the three games with Serbia, Slovakia and Israel.

The last fortnight will have taken a lot out of him physically and mentally.

We all saw how emotional he was after that win over Serbia to get us to Euro 2020.

I thought he looked a little emotionally drained during the game against Israel in Netanya the other night.

That won’t last. The high of reaching next year’s finals should spur him on to even greater heights.

Lennon will hope he recovers quickly because Celtic NEED him to drive them on this season.
