This has to be the quickest transfer rumour in Celtic’s summer. The club have been linked with a ridiculous amount of players and usually we get the long drawn out process before we are reported to have ‘missed out’ on our target when they go elsewhere.
Today, a Romanian paper claimed Celtic were closing in on a €3.3m deal for Billel Ormani from Cluj. The paper reported the deal could be done by the end of the week after he impressed Celtic officials when he scored two goals at Celtic Park.
However, an hour after the story broke, SunSport have apparently spoken to someone at Celtic who has completely rubbished the report from Romania and the club has no interest in the front man.
Neil Lennon did speak about getting another striker in earlier in the window but after Bayo put on a decent show for his first start on Sunday there are much more pressing positions for the club to fill.
