CELTIC have been drawn against Valencia in the last 32 of the Europa league.
The Bhoys weren’t fancied to get out their group in the first place with Salzburg and Leipzig made favourites to go through.
The road to Baku starts here and Celtic will be looking to go one better than last year after going out to Zenit St Petersburg in this round.
Celtic won 1-0 at home but were beaten 3-0 in Russia in a typical Celtic away performance.
The club will need to invest heavily in January if they want to make any sort of mark in the later rounds of this competition and the Hibs defeat on Sunday shows our depth isn’t there.
Rodgers is hoping to bring two defenders and two strikers in this January with a view to giving the club a top chance of progression – it won’t be easy but if the Celtic manager is backed by the board, anything is possible.
Valencia are currently 14th in La Liga and have parachuted in from the Champions League to the last round of 32.
The fixtures will be played 14th February and 21st Feb.
