Aaron Hickey is all set to complete his move it Italy and the player appears to have no regrets about the decision he has made. Aaron admitted he had several offers from Celtic on the table and had spoken with Bayern Munich before he decided to sign with Bologna.

Hickey has been on the books at Parkhead twice but didn’t feel he was well served there and moved to Tynecastle for first team opportunities.

The left back’s decision has been vindicated by becoming a first team player and winning a move to Italy.

Speaking to SunSport, Celtic Fan Hickey said:

“We had a massive decision to make out of the clubs that were interested. But I think I have definitely made the right decision for me and my future.

“Celtic offered me a contract a few times.

“I’m a Celtic fan and, as much as that was appealing, I just didn’t feel as if football-wise that was the right decision for me at this stage.

“I went to Bayern Munich as well, so it was a massive decision for me and a difficult one.

“But you can’t lose sight of the fact that Bologna are a massive club in Serie A.

“It’s a club that has a nice family feel to it, so hopefully I’ve made the right decision.”

Celtic are still in the hunt for a left-back to replace Boli Bolingoli. The hope is Celtic move the Belgian on and bring in some good competition for Greg Taylor.

Never say never when it comes to Hickey in a Celtic shirt, but he might just be right to go out and gain his reputation elsewhere.

Celtic will be due a cut of Hickey’s fee, which is not going to be paid until next season. Hearts cutting an initial loan deal with the money coming next summer.
