Former Celtic striker Scott Macdonald has told Celtic fans the club would be pulling off a ‘transfer coup’ by signing young Australian Daniel Arazni.

Scott believes the amount of teams currently after the young World Cup Star would see the Celtic pull off a major signing by landing him on-loan for two years.

speaking about the potential move the praise Scott gives the young star is glowing.

“Daniel is one of the most exciting players to come out of Australia in terms of natural talent. It could be a brilliant coup for Celtic because there is a lot of interest in him,”

Manchester City are rumoured to be doing a deal for the player with his current side Melbourne but want to send him straight out on-loan with Celtic being the top destination.

Theres no denying the lad has got talent but would he be up for the Scottish game?

It took Tom Rogic a lot of time to adjust.

  1. Yeah would be great if we were thinking of buying him but clearly that will not happen. So its a complete waste of time. Plenty of Celtic fans laughing at Sevco for getting loan players. We dont need to do that. Its not like we are short of money with more than £60 million in the bank and not a penny spent (net) so far. Short term mentality again. Anyway, why should we delelop players for Money city? Is it something to do with big dodgy Petes son working at the Arab stadium? Get him tae. Defence gets weaker every season. I am sure BR wants to buy in players that can improve the team LONG TERM for the STABILITY and DEVELOPMENT of the squad. I am sure he said this on a few occasions. We don’t need mercenaries and big time charlies coming here for a flying visit. Get the £60 million biscuit tin out.

  2. sorry but Scott Macdonald said during commentary during this week that he didn’t know much about him. So how does he know he will be a coup. Has he become a soothsayer.

  3. And who do you suggest Celtic spends £60m on Del Bhoy Desmond. Do you think Celtic should just go and say to selling clubs “Right OK much do you want then just give them and be back to the bad old days when the club was insolvent before Fergus McCann rescued us. You don’t just squander money because you’ve got it you know.If you are a real Celtic supporter then be very thankful we have a three guys who know what they are doing namely Dermot, Peter and Brendan. It’s a business and entertainment show we have here so shareholders and faithful season ticket holders should be very thankful that we’re in good hands. Remember we are trying in Europe to match Madrid, Barcelona, Man City Bayern etc so try to be realistic as we can’t possibly match their spending power nor wage bill. It’s a very difficult balancing act to handle.

  4. Frank, I agree it’s a difficult situation but the least you expect is that some funds are made available to sort out the defensive problems which have been going on for years. Ajer and Hendry will be torn apart if we actually make the group stages this year, which I doubt.
Read between the lines of BR’s recent statements on transfers and you can feel his frustration at the board. Celtic have previous when it comes to failing to strengthen the team when it matters.
