CELTIC look set to do some business this week ahead of the next round of qualifiers after Neil Lennon.

Asked after the Sarajevo game if he had procured a signing during the game, Lennon cheekily replied: “I might have done. and followed it up with saying “I can’t tell you. Nothing confirmed yet.” cited by SunSport.

Shortly after this statement, a report from Israel claimed Celtic had agreed a deal to bring in Hatem abd Elhamed from Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Hatem is a centre back by trade but can also play as a right back and his versatility may have been the selling point to the Celtic manager.

At 28, Hatem is not the typical Celtic signing with the club opting to buy young and sell on for large fees in the future.

If Hatem does come into the squad he will face fierce competition from Jozo, Ajer and Jullien for a starting place and if the reported €2m Fee is correct then the deal isn’t a massive risk for the club.

Sounds like a deal could be very close.
