Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Celtic are in talks with Timothy Weah over a potential loan move to the club.

The news about the player broke early this week with the Celtic manager playing down talks after the win against  Aberdeen.

However, the Irishman has now made it clear Celtic have made an offer to bring him to Celtic Park from PSG on a loan deal.

Speaking to SunSport, Rodgers said: “PSG gave us permission to speak with Timothy and he came over with his representatives.

“He had a great day here. We have good relations with PSG, so he came over.

“He sent me a lovely message afterwards, thanking everyone and saying he enjoyed it, so we will see.”

Since the Lennoxtown visit the PSG youngster has told his social media following he plans to go out on-loan and proceeded to follow all the Celtic players he could on Instagram.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring two strikers in during the January window and landing Timothy will be a major boost to the Irishman and the squad.

If the deal does go through the striker will likely join up with the club and head to Dubai for Celtic’s winter training camp.
