It’s crazy to say, but DESPITE Celtic missing three players who might have been starters in the Glasgow Derby and having Edouard off a quarantine, I don’t think this team is dead and buried when it comes to the Glasgow Derby.

From the outside looking in, it looks like chaos; from the inside, it’s not ideal but there’s a belief we can put out a team who can perform on the day. I say that believing Eddy will at least be in the squad.

However, Celtic are one more major call-off away from the tipping point in what would be a very difficult situation.

The man I’m most worried about who could still test positive for Saturday is Callum McGregor.

The player is STILL out on international duty and will come up against a team on Wednesday who have had so many call offs due to the virus. He also came into close contact with his teammates on Thursday night when Scotland took on Israel, Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed testing positive in the days proceeding the game.

Callum is the heartbeat of our midfield – if we lose him, we lose much more than a player on the day. It would be a psychological blow and something we would find it hard to recover from under the already stretched circumstances.

With players dropping out the Scotland camp due to injury – Celtic should be urging Callum to ask for his withdrawal with nothing at stake but Nation League points – glorified friendlies at best.

  1. I think he has been Celtic’s most consistent player so far this season, Steve Clark should stand him down, he’s done his bit, needs a wee rest before Saturday.
