CELTIC are hot on the trail of Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic according to reports overnight.

Ange Postecoglou jetted into Glasgow on Wednesday and immediately got to work at Lennoxtown. The manager will take the team for the first time on Thursday but the ball has already got rolling on potential signing targets.

Vuskovic, 19, is set to be sold this summer according to SunSport and its Torino and Celtic who have their eye on the £5m rated player. The report claims Celtic have scouted the player on several occasions.

Celtic are in desperate need of at least one new centre-back and while Mario is only 19, he has solidified his first team place at Split.

The defender made 33 appearances for his club last season, grabbing two goals and two assists.

Celtic’s rebuild will see more than four or five players coming in the door this summer. We’ve already had a large number of players leave and more are set to follow. Bringing in first team ready players is of the upmost importance.

Let’s hope Celtic are busy.
