Fabrizio Romano has been busy with Celtic news tonight, he has already given an update on Defender Carl Starfelt. [Read More]
Now, in his latest tweet, the Italian journalist has reported that Celtic have 19-year-old Brandon Soppy.
Celtic are interested in signing Brandon Soppy from Rennes [19, huge talent] as new left back. Talks opened – but there are also French clubs in the race. ?? #Celtic #Rennes #transfers

Celtic are not alone in their interest, with fellow French teams also keen, but the Parkhead side is the only club to open talks over a potential fee.
Soppy plays right-back for Rennes in the French top flight, featuring nine times in the Ligue 1, and twice in the Champions League.
In Fabrizio Romano’s tweet, he has tipped the french-born to be a ‘huge talent’
The fee is still unknown but Rennes have already rejected a bid worth £4 million from Italian giants, A.S. Roma, back in January of this year, however, he has now entered the last 12 months of his current deal so the hoops have the greater power throughout the negotiations. [GetFootballNewsFrance]
Soppy has also received interest from Borussia Dortmund, it seems that if Celtic do manage to see through the transfer we will have a rising star on our books.
It would appear that a European run is being sacrificed for the typical Celtic wheeling and dealing in the transfer market. With a possible seven to ten day quarantine period before playing any new player, it looks like no more new players will be available for the Champions league first leg next midweek. Shambles.
