SCOTT ALLAN is now in transfer window limbo after any remote chance he had of being part of a John McGinn deal vanished yesterday with the player opting for Aston Villa.

Scott wasn’t in the matchday squad for the visit of Athens on Wednesday night and while has taken part in pre-season the midfielder is NOT part of Brendan Rodgers plans.

Scott has one year left on his deal and is free to sign a pre-contract with any club in January. However, it would be best for all parties if they wen their separate ways before the end of August.

Will Hibernian use some of the John McGinn money to try and buy the player from Celtic and would Celtic sell to Hibernian after their unsuccessful back and forth with Hibs?

Scott is a good player on his day and as much as he is surplus to requirements at Celtic Parl he can certainly do a job for a lot of teams.

As the transfer window draws to a close it will be interesting to see if Allan waits until January to consider his options.
