If you were an eagled eye supporter at Friday’s press drive at Celtic to welcome our new manager you would have noticed something a little different about Celtic Park.

The three stripes are back inside the stadium.

If you’re a season ticket holder in the lower tier, when you make your way back to Celtic Park next season, you might just have a different colour of seat.

The image Celtic sent out to fan media showing the new manager and CEO showed the work at Celtic Park has been done in the close season and the three stripes, which were originally at Celtic Park in the beginning are now back.

We believe the three stripes stopped being the norm at Parkhead when Celtic signed a deal with Nike for five years. After New balance came in, there was no impetus to restore the original look to the stadium.

Now our kit manufactures are Adidas who are synonymous with the three stripes, they’re back at Celtic Park. We understand seats aren’t fully installed yet and the process is still going on.

Check out the very old aerial view of Celtic Park back when the three stripes went round the stadium.

The banners covered the seats inside an empty Celtic park last season. Fans are expected in as soon as the first Champions League tie.
