Celtic return to domestic action to take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie having not played a competitive match in five weeks.

The venue has been pretty special for Ange Postecoglou as it was where he picked up his first away victory as Hoops boss last October.

Aberdeen have been almost impossible to beat at home this season  having not lost at Pittodrie since August but Celtic will hope to continue their impressive form in the league having only lost one of their last 47 games in the SPFL Premiership.

Joe Hart has started every game between the sticks for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season and will continue in goals for the Scottish champions.

One of the big calls going into this game will be the centre back pairing in front of Hart with Carter-Vickers the only real definite.

Moritz Jenz has played a lot of minutes so far this season but Carl Starfelt looks as though he is over the worst of his injury worries having missed a number games due to two separate injuries.

The pairing of Carter-Vickers and Starfelt was vital to the Hoops winning a league and cup double last season and will likely return to the favoured pairing.

At fullback, Anthony Ralston will start with Juranovic still being involved at the World Cup and Greg Taylor will be on left hand side having been a standout so far this season.

It will be a huge boost to welcome back Callum McGregor to the team which will also allow Matt O’Riley to play in a more advanced position alongside  Reo Hatate.

The Celtic captain has been missing from action since early October and it will be great to see him back in action.

There are plenty of options in the forward areas but there is an argument to be made that the strongest front three is Jota, Kyogo and Sead Haksabanovic.

Playing Haksabanovic and Jota gives the manager a great flexibility with plenty of options off the bench.
