Much was made of the speculation when Louis Moult fired Motherwell into the League Cup Final.

Calls from Celtic fans that the club should sign Moult up were prevalent.

We reported at the time that while Celtic could be in the market for another permanent striker, especially with next season in mind, Rodgers had no designs on the Motherwell forward and that’s how it has played out.

Today Louis has agreed to join Preston on a three-year deal with Motherwell getting a transfer fee for the player in the process.

There was never any contact from Celtic about the player and even if Rodgers and his scouting team flirted with the idea of taking an interest in the player, it was quickly quashed by his completely forgettable trilogy of games against Celtic recently.

We are however that Aberdeen did not try and make a move for the striker.

Celtic are likely to bring in two new faces in January. A number of defenders have been identified and the club are currently working hard to get it sorted.

  1. I used to be season ticket holder for countless years at at Paradise. Used to pull back the gate after I walked threw, so I could let my nephew skip in, as there were countless seats that that Celtic couldn’t sell. I also renember asking Celtic why as a special Season ticket holder if they would chose what team I would be forbidden to see, once the Hunz went burst. The sound of silence was defending.
