We’re still awaiting official confirmation from Celtic that they have been given permission for a spectator test event against Motherwell but SunSport report the club will ballot season ticket holders to see who gets in for the game.

Rugby in Scotland has already been given the green light to hold such an event with very limited numbers to discover the practicalities of having supporters through the gates.

Football and more specifically Celtic have been looking to head up the response to supporters getting back into the grounds which will be permitted in mid-September all going well.

A test event would hold just over 1,000 people in a 60k seater stadium which will hardly make a difference to the atmosphere – but it’s the first step on the road back to where we want to be.

By September we could have 10-15k who could be allowed inside the stadium. Hopes of a full capacity Celtic Park is still way off in the distance at the moment.
