Reports yesterday claiming Celtic insisted on a ten percent sell-on fee for the player might just be wide of the mark with some outlets claiming it’s as much as 15%!

With Arsenal desperate to get the deal over the line on Wednesday night – it appears they may have caved to a larger sell-on clause to break the stalemate in proceedings.

SunSport writes: And the North Londoners had to also agree to Celtic’s sell-on clause demands – reportedly worth up to 15 per cent of the left-back’s potential sale in the future.

Celtic made it clear they didn’t need to sell Kieran meaning they were in a strong position at the negotiating table. Arsenal low balled us with two initial offers but the club didn’t flinch and Arsenal eventually had to do so.

Celtic now have a lot of money in the bank but are down a significant amount of first team defenders. Lustig, Tierney, Benkovic and Boyata were all starters last season and have all moved on this summer.

Celtic have replaced some of the positions with Christopher Jullien, Hatem Elhamed and Boli Bolingoli; there is still more work to do for the club to come out of this window looking strong.
