So far Celtic have been linked with four possible candidates for the vacant manager’s position. Neil Lennon has found competition with Roberto Martinez a new favourite, Dermot Desmond’s golf buddy Andre Villas-Boas and to a lesser extent Rafa Benitez.
Lennon’s 0-0 draw at the weekend and last minute winners have not done him any favours. We did see he will have to make some noise the weekend and try to get a convincing win against Aberdeen.
But Lennon has received the backing publically of one Celtic player. Callum McGregor speaking with the Record thinks Lennon is the man for the job and that he needs to be announced ASAP.
‘The club has good support behind that who will continue to work and, whatever it throws up in the summer, there will be enough options there that whoever is making the decisions will be able to do so.’
‘Ewan Henderson has come into the equation, Michael Johnston has been around it and we have young boys in the team,’.
‘Kris Ajer is only 20, Kieran Tierney is still 21, Odsonne Edouard is 21. ‘There are young players there and there also young ones in behind that as well, but you obviously have to bring in quality as well at the same time.
‘There are a number of players out of contract and there will be some movement here and there, I’m sure.’
McGregor has been a first team regular for the past three seasons at Celtic. Before his injury, in February he had racked up more minutes than any other player in world football. Lucky for Celtic he only missed a month out with the injury as he will be a vital part to Celtic and Lennon’s push for another treble-winning season.
It would be the best way forward just name Neil Lennon as the manger,and let him get on with the job at hand better with him to take us forward for next couple of years give him the chance to bring home 10 in a row..
Do it Celtic and give the club a much needed lift
Players should not be concerning themselves about manager’s, at this point , there job just now is to play the best football they can play, as a tip for them, they could be under scrutiny by. a potential manager, players calling shots start getting there slippers on , and start thinking boss we picked you.
What a load of codswallop, players are entitled to their opinion……..
We already had 2 players in fact 5 if you include the three Amigo’s that spoke up about what the thought ,we don’t need more the only reason players think this way is it time for them to jump ship ,or if they know a new manager is going to take the slippers of them, who have good contract’s
